Target group of Diversity School are adult youth from regions of Georgia, IDPs (internally displaced persons) from Abkhazia and South Osetia and ethnic minorities age between 18-24. From 2010 until 2015 every year we had 25 participants, but from 2016 we have 50 participants from almost all region of Georgia and their voluntary projects are implemented mainly in regions.
Our fellows, aged between 18 and 24, are (or want to become) young activists striving for a pluralistic and tolerant society in Georgia.
In Diversity School we build upon the experience of our fellows to develop and share best practices.
Our partner Theodor Heuss Kolleg facilitates this process and provides further expertise and skills training according to the needs of our fellows.
See the following link for the general mission and methodology of Theodor Heuss Kolleg.
Our alumni-fellows have the chance to receive further training within the program. Please see the following links for more information on the Mentor Program and New Facilitator Training. Currently Diversity School with it's former programs (GettingInvolved!, Joint Civic Education, Social Leader Forum) has up to 135 alumni in Georgia, from which 28 are qualified mentors and 16 are qualified facilitators within our program. Alumni are actively involved in the development of Diversity School program, strategic planning and participatory evaluation.
